Emirates flights to and from Dubai Airport have opened a limited flight schedule from 10am with some cancellations after a temporary suspension as a precautionary safety measure

According to an update shared by Dubai Media Office this morning on 16 March at 5:28am, the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority announced the temporary suspension of flights to and from Dubai Airport to ensure the safety of all passengers and employees.

Travellers due to depart from or arrive at Dubai International Airport are advised to contact their respective airlines for the latest updates regarding their flights.

Emirates announced on their Instagram story this morning at 9:30am “Emirates expects to operate a limited schedule after 10:00hrs Dubai local time today. Unfortunately, some flights from today’s schedule have been cancelled. Affected customers will receive a cancellation notice and will be advised on reaccommodation options. We apologise for the inconvenience caused. Emirates will continue to publish updates as we access the situation.”

The latest options offered by Emirates

Emirates offered up options to customers booked to travel on February 28 to March 31, 2026.

Customers can rebook another flight to their intended destination for travel on or before April 30. Customers who booked directly with Emirates can reach out here, while those who booked through a travel agent are advised to reach out to their agent.

Customers can also request for refund by completing the online form here if tickets are booked directly with Emirates. Customers can also request a refund from their travel agents. 

For all official updates, Emirates urged their passengers to check if their contact details are correct by visiting  emirat.es/managebooking.

Emirates added that all city check-in points in Dubai are temporarily closed until further notice.

Which routes are affected?

British Airways has confirmed all operations to and from the UAE are on pause. Flights to Dubai International Airport (DXB), as well as Amman, Bahrain, and Doha, have been cancelled until the end of March. Abu Dhabi flights are suspended until later this year, with no firm return date announced.
