A new authority will oversee the future of longevity, wellness and advanced healthcare in the emirate

Dubai has taken another step towards becoming a global hub for healthcare innovation with the launch of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), a new entity dedicated to advancing longevity, wellness and cutting-edge healthcare.

The authority was established by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It will regulate and support the growing longevity sector, helping position Dubai as a world leader in extending both lifespan and healthspan

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, will serve as president of the authority. We couldn’t think of a more fitting figure to take on the role, given Sheikh Hamdan’s love for health and fitness.

The establishment of DLA will support the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, which aims to position Dubai among the top three cities globally for quality of life and achieve a leading position in healthy life expectancy.

The authority’s role will extend across the entire longevity ecosystem, from research and development and clinical trials to manufacturing, treatment delivery and patient care. It will establish a science-led regulatory framework for emerging therapies and innovations designed to improve quality of life and support healthier ageing.

The Dubai Ruler added, “Our ambition is for Dubai to become the world’s leading hub for longevity, wellness and advanced healthcare and to set new global benchmarks in health and quality of life.
