Are you one of Barasti’s beach crew? Then we’ve got good news…

Rejoice: The car park that everybody uses near Barasti will be completely free again (well that is until they’ve finished building their very own car park).

You see, the car park there – officially called Green Park – used to be free, but then they started charging Dhs20 for three hours and Dhs50 for three to eight hours (cue outrage). But while the folk at Barasti finish building their own parking building, they have an arrangement with Green Park to let people park there for free (when the other car park will be finished we don’t yet know).

Now, now. The car park isn’t huge, so just because it’s free again doesn’t mean it’s available so don’t expect to nab yourself a space during peak times.

(Ooh, and remember, there’s now a Ripe Market down that way every Wednesday evening.)

With the weather finally cooling down though, it’s time to get back outside with beach season kicking back in. Oh, and for those who don’t know – entry to Barasti is completely free.

If you’re heading to the bar area though, expect to be asked for ID (of course).

Hooray! We can finally sit on the beach without fear of melting.

Inside you’ll find the much-loved beach bar, the beach (obviously), plenty of seating, as well as live music, live sports, food and drinks.
