Fancy a day out with the family that’s half-brunch, half-chilling on a 500-metre-long beach? Yeah, us too…

Well, if you drive for about 40 minutes out of Dubai you can do just that (and for about half of what it’d cost you at a Dubai hotel).

The Kempinski Ajman puts on a Garden Brunch every Friday (and because it’s the weekend, Sharjah traffic isn’t an issue). For Dhs185 you can sample an indoor-outdoor spread, with live cooking stations serving up Indian, Italian, Arabic and Chinese food (as well as BBQ classics).

While you sit back and eat your way through the afternoon, your little ones will be looked after at the hotel’s kids playground, where you’ll find a bouncy castle, toys, a PlayStation and more. There’s also a special buffet that’s specifically catered to the tastebuds of little ones. For children, the brunch is Dhs92.50. There’s a live band too, called Mix Duo, to keep things lively.

If you want to really make a day of it, you can pay Dhs250 for the beach and brunch package, which means you can brunch and then spend the afternoon relaxing on a lounger at the hotel’s glorious white-sand 500 metre beach (it’s truly one of the nicest beaches we’ve been in the UAE).

You really can spend the whole day there, as you can use the beach from 7am to sunset, or the pool (which is also included in the package) from 8am to 9pm.

In fact, if you really wanted to you could eat the brunch right on the beach.

Oh, and heads up, you can also pay Dhs290 for a beach, brunch and selected beverages package too, meanwhile, little ones pay Dhs125 for the beach and brunch deal.
