A legend returns! Carl Cox back in Dubai after seven years
Dance music royalty will jet into Dubai in March for a monster show on Atlantis The Palm, the first time a a major music event will take place since the ill-fated Sandance NYE which saw people standard on the roads unable to attend.
Carl Cox, who was set to end a seven-year hiatus from the UAE in late December before the gig was cancelled, will take to the decks at Atlantis Beach on March 21 for a show that will last a combined NINE hours for 9,000 people.
Despite first making his impact on the rave scene way back in the 1980s, the 51-year-old Brit continues to be hailed as one of the world’s best DJs. Last summer saw the Intec label boss extend the run of his Revolution parties at Space Ibiza into a 12th year and revealed plans to take his project to the world-famous Burning Man festival in Nevada.
His last major album release, titled ‘All Roads Lead to the Dance Floor’ in 2011, was feted as ‘the most forward-thinking album he has ever made.’
Speaking exclusively to our friends at Hype magazine last year, before his gig with John Digweed was pulled, Cox said: “What drives us most is to play great tunes to people, that’s what it’s all about for us. People see that when we come together we push the elements, push the creativity so that people hear the best music. It’s something we want to do, not something we have to do.”
Carl Cox will be joined by supporting DJs on the night for Live @ Atlantis. Names will be announced soon. Tickets for the show will cost Dhs200 (Dhs400 for VIP) and go on sale on February 18 at 9am at atlantisthepalm.com and virginmegastore.me.
