Dubai's Al Habtoor City cuts ties with this major international hotel chain
Three luxury hotels along Dubai Canal will transfer to being managed by the Al Habtoor Group by the end of the month…
Dubai’s Al Habtoor Group issued a statement yesterday announcing that Marriott International will no longer continue managing three of its hotels located at Al Habtoor City on Sheikh Zayed Road.
Operation of The St. Regis Dubai, W Dubai Habtoor City and The Westin Dubai Habtoor City will revert back to the Al Habtoor Group effective July 31.
No other information was divulged on whether the properties would continue to operate under their current monikers, only that, after the set date, they would no longer be part of the respective hotels’ global brand portfolios.
Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, Khalaf Al Habtoor, said “We maintain a strong and friendly relationship with Marriott International. This decision marks the start of a new ear for Habtoor Hospitality as we focus more on strengthening our own brands and expanding our hotel-management portfolio”
It appears that the split is indeed an amicable one, with the statement mentioning that both parties are working together closely to ensure a smooth and seamless tranisition for associates, clients and partners.
