To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Dubai Shopping Festival, Ripe Food & Craft Market has organised an extended edition, a weekend-long market, offering visitors an alternative look at the city’s shopping options, to be held at the Zabeel Park from January 1 to 3, 2015.

After a triumphant return – or rebirth, since having to move from its home in Safa Park– Ripe has rapidly grown into a much-loved Dubai institution in its own right, now firmly rooted at Zabeel Park. And while many farmers’ markets have cropped up around town, Ripe is still the daddy of Dubai’s market scene, attracting hordes of families, healthy eaters and hipsters to its new location every weekend.

“The Ripe Market is a beautiful alfresco shopping venue and we’re really excited to be a part of the Dubai Shopping Festival to showcase the market and the city’s independent artisans and local businesses,” said Ripe’ founder Becky Balderstone.

As well as organic fruit and veg, the alfresco market hosts a variety of traders, including artisans and small business owners, in a community-inspired setup.

Visitors can expect food trucks serving cuisine from around the globe, from local bites to Brazilian cheese balls as well as hundreds of stalls selling everything from arts and crafts to fashion and jewellery, along with one-off handmade creations.
