Michael McIntyre will return to Dubai for two special shows in June.

The British comedian, who sold out two nights at World Trade Centre on his last visit to the region, returns to the same venue of his 2013 shows, on June 12 and 13.

The announcement was made during Thursday night’s sell-out stand-up event, headlined by Jack Dee. The evening started with high praise for up-and-coming Brit Josh Widdecombe, and ended with the crowd excitably planning their next visit for one of the UK’s best-loved stars.

McIntyre recently confirmed a 34-date show around his homeland, and at the time of writing there are no other shows planned, suggesting this is another major coup for Dubai, and specifically Done Events, who also bought Kevin Bridges to the Middle East.

“I loved performing in Dubai a couple of years ago, and can’t wait to return with my new shows in June at the hopefully heavily air-conditioned Dubai World Trade Centre,” the star, who will be supported by Paul Tonkinson, said in a press release.

McIntyre, who shot to fame as a TV panel show star on Mock The Week before going on to get his own show on the BBC, was responsible for the biggest selling comedy tour ever two years ago, the aforementioned ‘Showtime’ being played to more than 600,000 people. The observational comedian hopes ‘Happy And Glorious’ reaches a similar peak.

Tickets for McIntyre’s Dubai shows go on sale at 10am on Tuesday March 24 and will be priced from Dhs350. Visit doneevents.com and all Virgin Megastores to get your hands on one.
