The National Day parade has been bought forward to coincide with the day off being enjoyed by the majority of the private sector.

The spectacular event kicks off at 3pm at the Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Downtown Dubai on December 1, one day ahead of the official 42nd National Day, and will be participated in by individuals from every walk of life in the UAE, including school children, business men, bikers’ clubs and many more of the vast cultures who reside here.

Lasting for two hours, the parade’s themed floats, dance performers and novelty acts will wind themselves around The Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and Emaar Square on a 3.5km circuit and will be free to view to the general public.

Entertainment will be provided in a number of ways including, for the very first time, a Formula 1 car as result of a partnership between Emaar and the Lotus team. Other vehicles taking part include the famous ‘dirham’ coin car, motorbikes and camels.

The Dubai Mall, SEGA Republic, Reel Cinemas, Dubai Aquarium, KidZania , The Address and At the Top will all be represented by inflatables.

There will also be a fireworks display, commemorative gift-giving and a post-event celebration at Burj Park starting at 6pm.

Ahmad Al Matrooshi, managing director of Emaar Properties PJSC, said: “This year’s parade at Downtown Dubai is a sterling tribute by Emaar to the strong evolution ofthe United Arab Emirates under the guidance of our leadership.
