The construction along The Walk in JBR Dubai has been something of a sore point for residents, but it looks like the end is in sight with the almost near completion of The Beach.

We took a stroll around the area and were pleased to stumble on a few amenities that have made the wait well worthwhile. First up, the car park. Parking in JBR has always been a nightmare, so the addition of an underground car park should ease the strain of the influx of tourists The Walk attracts.

There’s no shortage of cafes along The Walk but we predict Leopold’s of London and Aprons and Hammers will become our weekend hotspots for a casual bite to eat. We also spotted a rather swanky looking cinema that boasts an outdoor screen and bean bag area which is sure to be a hit with the JBR hipsters.

While JBR may not be the obvious choice as a shopping destination, we rather like the open plan layout of The Beach, which although it obscures views of the sea, will be a pleasant alternative to the nearby Dubai Marina Mall.

If you need just one reason to stop by and check it out, make it the giant sandcastles tucked behind the buildings. We challenge you to walk away with your mouth shut.
