Street culture festival Sole DXB has announced it will be returning to d3 this December.

The three-day festival brings together top street culture names across art, food, music, sports and style. Now in its sixth year, Sole DXB 2017 will spotlight contemporary Japanese design.

This year’s line up also brings another round of grime and hip-hop names to Dubai.

Award-winning British musician Kano, one of the UK’s leading grime stars, will be joined by rappers Pusha T, Goldlink and Serious Klein, with Manchester urban jazz singer IAMDDB, dubbed one of 2017’s big breakout acts, completing the bill.

There will be also be talks, screenings and workshops over the three-day event, kicking off on Thursday night with the international premiere of ‘Word is Bond’, a documentary that examines the transformative power of lyrics in the world of hip hop.

Other highlights include appearances from Fragment Design founder, Hiroshi Fujiwara, style icon Jeff Staple of Staple Design and founder of global alternative culture platform ‘Highsnobiety’, David Fischer.

There will also be plenty of fashion on display too, with brands including Nike, Reebok and Puma all showcasing unique wares housed in bespoke retail units, taking design cues from the finesse of Tokyo’s architecture.
