A contemporary spot in Jumeirah, a French bistro and a second serving of a chic food concept…

From unique dining experiences to wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, we seem to have it all when it comes to new restaurants.

But as the foodie scene gets bigger and bigger, we’re seeing both old and new concepts bringing a fresh approach to dining in Dubai.

So here are three restaurants on our radar to check out this week (here are the three fresh places we pointed out last week).

Flamingo Room by Tashas: The South African restauranteur opens in Jumeirah

Flamingo Room by Tashas is the first concept restaurant in Dubai from South African restaurateur, Natasha Sideris. There’s a Champagne bar, outdoor pagoda, and a sleek dining space. There’s everything from ricotta hotcakes with lime honey for breakfast to twists on lunch and dinner dishes including a lobster and prawn vol au vent, calamari Mozambique and fish and chips with crispy shoestring fries. South African retail brand Collective by Charles Greig also has a share of the floor space, and you’ll be able to pick up some Cape cool pieces for your villa or apartment there.

Flamingo Room by tashas, Jumeirah Al Naseem, Madinat Jumeirah, Sun to Weds 9am to 11.30 pm (bar stays open until 12:30 am), Thurs and Fri 9am to 12.30am (bar stays open until 1.30am). Tel: (04) 244 7278. More info on website.

Parlour Boutique: the French Bistro in Downtown

Parlour Boutique is a brand new spot for casual French dining. There’s a specialty coffee bar, open bakery and restaurant area that serves breakfast all day. Guests can also utilise the library space with its large communal table, designed with the working Downtown crowd in mind. The menu includes oven-fresh pastries, Parlour’s Benedict, which, uniquely, is served in an éclair, plus salads, a selection of french entrées, mains and desserts.

Parlour Boutique One Central, World Trade Centre, Dubai, , daily 8am to 7pm. Tel: (04) 486 5333. More info on Instagram

Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet: The second serving of a concept store

The signature dining concept by Galeries Lafayette Dubai Mall has opened a second concept store in City Walk. The dine and shop destination is made up of a combination of six different open kitchen concepts all under one roof. Le Café, L’Italien, L’Indien, L’Asian, Le Sushi and Le Grill are all aptly named open plan eateries that create one food hall dining destination. In addition, two interactive culinary hubs, Le Marché and La Mezzanine, also serve as shopping spaces.

Galeries Lafayette Le Gourmet, City Walk, daily 11am to 12am. Tel: (04) 403 3033. More info on website
