The Austrian-born American celebrity chef is set to sprinkle some extra stardust over Dubai with his brand new restaurant which he plans to open at Dubai’s Al Maktoum International Airport.

“The new Dubai restaurant will be the 1st new design of our Bar & Grill, specifically for the airport,” explains Puck, who’s currently in Dubai on a five-day visit to the emirate.

“[The new restaurant is] going to be lighter, and more modern, than we used to do and the concept could be extended to other airports.”

“It will be bright and upbeat, and we want to make it feel solid not like fast food, and it will have a bar so it will be easy for people travelling by themselves.”

The veteran chef has come a long way since opening Spago in Los Angeles January 1982. Today his culinary empire includes almost 35 restaurants, spanning airport cafés and catering as well as fine-dining restaurants.

This will be the second restaurant for Wolfgang Puck in Dubai.

His impressive steakhouse Cut – which already fed the famous – and non-famous – in Beverly Hills, London Singapore and Las Vegas – also opened in Dubai in July 2014 at The Address Downtown Dubai and has evolved as one of the best steakhouses in the city, with incredible views of Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountains.
