Well, rejoice, because it’s being reported that British band Blur are headlining the F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix this November.

The National reports “sources close to the UK band” have confirmed that the former Britpoppers will perform in one of the weekend’s after-race concerts.

The group is made up of childhood friends Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon, who met Alex James and Dave Rowntree in their uni days.

Blur was officially formed in 1988, and while they split up for five years from 2003, they reformed in 2008.

Recently they’ve been making waves with their album The Magic Whip, which was conceived over five days in Hong Kong and has been widely celebrated by critics and fans alike for being fresh yet still true to form.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will run from November 27-29 this year, and the after-race concert line up will likely be formally announced on September 15.
