The Mall of the Emirates extension appears to be quite the magnet for sporting superstars: first David Beckham opened the adidas store there, and now Manny Pacquiao is flying in to visit the new GO Sport at MOE on Thursday November 5.

36-year-old boxer Pacquaio is the Philippines’ most iconic sporting legend, having enjoyed a 20 year career in the ring, defeating the likes of Oscar De La Hoya before being crowned ‘Fighter of the Decade’ by the World of Boxing Council.

He now appears to be expanding his career: earlier this month he announced he’s going to run for a seat in the Senate in the Philippines.

He’s also – like many of his compatriots – a keen and skilled basketball player, and he’s coming to Dubai in November primarily in his capacity as player/coach for the Mahindra Enforcers for the PBA Philippine Cup series.

But, while here, the 10-time world champion boxer will be the star guest during the opening of the world’s largest GO Sport on November 5 – so if you’re a mega fan, head down there to catch a glimpse of Pac-Man, or keep an eye on GO Sports’ social media channels for the chance to win a meet and greet.

We’ll keep you in the loop on what time he’ll be there, as well as any more details we find out about his stay as we get them.

Manny was in Doha last week in fact, and as you can see here, he has plenty of fans all across the GCC:

Doha, Qatar. People are very nice here. Thank you for your hospitality.
