John Lewis is coming to Dubai (well, sort of)
Many of you will know John Lewis only for its super-cute, always-viral Christmas ads. But those of you from the UK will know it as the iconic Oxford Street department store that stocks everything from posh handbags to lovely homeware.
Well, in 2017, Dubai is going to get its very own John Lewis store-in-store. So yes, while we’re not getting an entire John Lewis store (sob, maybe next time), there will be a John Lewis homewares section inside a new department store.
The department store in question is Robinsons, which is scheduled for a Spring 2017 opening at Dubai Festival City’s mall. Robinsons is a really rather lovely Singapore-based department store that also has a branch in Kuala Lumpur.
The 15,000 square foot John Lewis homeware area inside Robinsons will sell furniture, cookware, textiles, glassware and nursery products. It will also stock the John Lewis bed, bath, living and gifting range. You can check out what John Lewis offers in the home department here.
The Dubai John Lewis shop-in-shop will be designed in part by the UK John Lewis team, and so is sure to have that John Lewis feel that homesick Britons will crave.
Ooh, and here’s a glimpse of what Robinsons looks like in Singapore (we imagine you can expect a similar shop in Festival City next year):

Oh, and here’s John Lewis’ latest Christmas ad. Just because it’s too fabulous not to share again:
