You don't want to miss this pop-up (where naps are totally OK)
A place where you can swing in a hammock, grab a smoothie, or even have a legitimate daytime sleep? Be still our hearts.
It’s a cosmopolitan, bustling city, so it’s no surprise that sometimes life in Dubai feels a little frantic.
However there’s a new, zen-like space that’s just popped up on Alserkal Avenue – but it’s literally that, a pop-up, so you’ve got 14 weeks to make the most of it.
Warehouse 90 has been transformed into a gorgeously calm, casual gathering space which will also host a programme of events until October 29.
The meeting place, named Nadi Al Quoz, is open daily for visitors to “unwind, work, meet new people and share ideas”.
You can just rock up to take a load off in one of their hammocks, take a seat on one of their comfy floor chairs and read a book, or enrol on one of the many classes, workshops or talks organised.
There’s also communal work benches, and a healthy food and drink stand courtesy of Wild & The Moon should you feel peckish. The space opens for visitors between 10am and 7pm, but some classes run later.
All activities are completely free, and include 60-minute yoga workshops by Urban Yoga, Japanese flower arranging, drawing classes, reading and critical discussion groups, and talks by some of the UAE’s top creative minds.
Speakers include artists, architects, writers, musicians, anthropologists, and cultural producers, and are followed by audience Q&As.
But the best part? There’s also this:
