Heading to Party in the Park? Here's what to bring
Sponsored content: If you’re heading out to our annual music festival next month, it’s time to start planning your wardrobe…
Dubai doesn’t have the weather of Glastonbury (thank goodness), so wellies and a waterproof jacket aren’t the uniform of a music festival here.
But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put a bit of effort into planning your look, and we have a few ideas for you.
Party in the Park is returning to Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on Friday November 11, and Virgin Megastore has put together a few guides to help you narrow down what you’ll need for the big day.
It will be a music fan’s dream day out, with Travis, Kaiser Chiefs and The Charlatans all taking to the stage.
What’s more, the Hype clubhouse will have some of city’s favourite DJs hitting the decks from day to night, and local talents The Boxtones, Adam Baluch and Tim Hassall will all perform at the multi-stage music extravaganza.
So, what should you pack?
Well, it’s an alfresco event, so a picnic blanket and a water bottle (to keep you hydrated should it be a hottie) are musts. Virgin recommend XD Design hexagonal blankets (Dhs129), which have a waterproof side so no more soggy bottoms, and BKR boss bottles (Dhs149), fitted with a no-leak seal so there’s no chance of killing the electronics in your bag as you bop around.
You’ll also want to create memories on the day – both mental and physical – so a Fujifilm Instax Mini (Dhs299) will help you take Instagram-worthy snaps without the need for a smartphone.
Or if you can’t bare to be parted from it, strap your phone into a Merlin selfie stick (Dhs199) – the added height will give you better snaps of the action on the stage.
Fashion wise, you want to keep things cool as the night heats up (through lots and lots of dancing we mean, not humidity. That’s why we don’t hold PITP during August).
A printed tee should do the job (like these two, both Dhs199) – they’ll look just as good with distressed jeans as patterned shorts or a breezy skirt.
