1. A British Bash

The Rose & Crown in Habtoor City is turning one, and it’s celebrating with a ’90s Parklife-themed party (think Blur circa 1994). There’ll be an all-day happy hour with selected beverages at Dhs25, and a “star board” of mini fish ‘n’ chips, a beef slider, bangers and mash and more for Dhs70.

With a towering mega structure, winding slides and a giant pit of soft balls, Dubai Marina Mall has a super-sized playground to entertain the kids this July. Customers who spend Dhs50 at any store in Dubai Marina Mall will receive one free session for a child to play in the Giant Ball Pit, which is located in the Dome Atrium on the Ground floor.

3. See some comedy

4. A ladies day with free pool access

Nasimi Beach

There’s a brand new ladies day going on every day at Nasimi Beach, with free pool access seven days a week. You can also upgrade to the ladies’ day package and enjoy a bottle of grape or a cocktail jug plus a selection of appetisers for Dhs150.

5. Go to Dubai Opera with the kids

Family-friendly concert Xavier and Aisha’s Amazing Choral Adventure is showing at Dubai Opera today. The story tells the tale of Xavier, Aladdin’s little brother, and his quest for true love. The show is running just this weekend, on Thursday and Friday.

6. Tuck in to a British Roast

British pub Jekyll & Hyde is in the centre of DIFC, and it has a rolling roast all weekend. Choose lamb, beef, chicken or nutloaf with five veg for Dhs99 every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Plus, for the month of July there’s a buy one get one free on selected beverages all day.

8. Feast on seafood

It’s just reopened after a summer refurb’, and this Friday Pier Chic is kicking off a 12-week “shellebration”. There will be a limited addition dish joining the menu every two weeks, inspired by a different country. It’s kicking off with the Spanish-influenced Paelle de Arroz con Bovagante, a Saffron rice Paella featuring lobster and seafood.

9. Catch the last of the Lions and (maybe) get a freebie

It’s the final match of the Lions tour this weekend, and McGettigans DWTC is so certain of a win for the Northern Hemisphere that they’re promising a a free pint to everyone in the bar if the All Blacks win. You’ve just got to be in the bar during the game to get that drink. The match kicks off at 11.30am.

10. Have aperitivo by the sea
