Pink and Calvin Harris are both coming to Abu Dhabi this year for the F1 concerts (and there are still two more gigs to be announced)…

We had guessed/wished for Adele, Fleetwood Mac and Foo Fighters as the concerts for the Abu Dhabi F1, and so far we couldn’t have been more wrong….

The first two of four names have been announced for the November concerts, and they are super DJ Calvin Harris (who will play on Thursday November 23), and big-voiced pop singer-songwriter Pink (who’ll take the stage on Sunday November 26). We’re still waiting to hear who will play on the Friday and Saturday nights of the 2017 Yasalam After-Race Concerts (so two of our predictions could still come true).

MORE ON CALVIN…

Calvin Harris, who is responsible for what we’re picking will be the pop hit of the summer, mega-collaboration Feels, will kick off the Formula 1 festivities on the Thursday (it was Pit Bull who did this last year).

Fast fact: The 33-year-old Scot also happens to be the world’s highest-earning DJ. You can expect to hear his many superstar collabs, including his three tunes with Rihanna (This is What You Came For, We Found Love and Where Have You Been).

…AND ON WHY PINK IS A LEGEND

And then, pop queen Pink (aka, Alecia Beth Moore) will finish things off on the Sunday. The singer, songwriter, dancer and actress has a 21-year reign and a powerful, gutsy voice, and a huge vocal range, so we imagine her fans won’t be disappointed with her live performance.

In many ways she stands out from her pop star peers – like Britney and Christina – for her unwavering sense of self, and the fact she’s clearly identified and stuck to her own sound. In fact, many think she paved the way for the more rebellious pop divas we see today like Katy Perry and Rihanna. Even Adele has said that listening to Pink when she was 13 or 14 was a defining moment in her musical journey.

Basically, whichever way you look at it, Pink is a legend.

Who will be the other two acts to join Pink and Calvis on the Abu Dhabi F1 stage? We don’t know, but we’ll certainly let you know as soon as we do.

Remember, as always, you can’t actually buy tickets to these concerts, they come as part of the Formula 1 race tickets, which you can buy here.
