There’s been actual thunder…

Summer in the UAE is officially on the way out, and certain emirates are already starting to see some wild weather.

Heavy rain hit Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah on Monday, according to the National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology and local weather website storm.ae.

The NCMS shared this video of the downpour in the township of Manama, an exclave of Ajman (which is actually located closer to Fujairah):

The NCMS also reported heavy rain over Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road toward Fujairah, as well as in the Al Haniya area.

Storm.ae shared a video of a thunderstorm hitting Al Ghail in Ras Al Khaimah:

The area was also lashed by strong winds:

Another video showed a swollen river in Fujairah after the storm:

Motorists took photos of waterfalls created by the downpour on Sheikh Khalifa Road:

The NCMS says clouds are expected to form over some eastern areas again today, which could mean more rain in those emirates.

Meanwhile, coastal areas like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah can expect a foggy day, due to increased humidity levels.

But temperatures in these areas are getting cooler as the month goes on, with a range between 25C and 42C.
