2. McGettigan’s Souk Madinat has a two-for-one deal

3. Dine for less throughout Jumeirah

It’s the final days to take advantage of some great deals at Jumeriah Restaurant Week. Forty of Jumeirah’s best-loved outlets are participating, and offering set menus at prices ranging from Dhs95 to Dhs350. 4. Watch a movie under the stars

The outdoor movie night is back at West 14th steakhouse on The Palm this and every Thursday throughout October. It’s free entry, with snacks and drinks charged separately. This week, it’s the family friendly Shrek Ever After at 6.30pm and American thriller Now You See Me at 8pm.

5. Enjoy happy hour all night long

Assana at the Trump International Golf Club is kicking off its winter season tonight with a poolside launch party, Assana Beats – which includes an all-night happy hour. Live DJs will hit the decks at Assana’s Pool Deck from 6pm every Thursday to Saturday, complemented by chilled-out beats at the adjacent outdoor bar, Assana Lounge.

6. Party at an 8-hour brunch at Nasimi beach

A new all-inclusive beach festival called Infinity Sessions’ launches at Nasimi this weekend. It comes with an eight-hour drinks package from Dhs300 for girls and Dhs350 for guys, and international acts including Blonde, Fedde Le Grand, 99 Souls and Karen Harding.

7. Get a buy-one-get-one-free brunch at La Cala

Chilled-out Balearic beach bar La Cala is celebrating its one-year anniversary this Friday. To celebrate, they’re offering a buy-one-get-one-free on their three-hour rolling brunch from 12pm to 9pm that includes a three-hour package of cocktails, pints, pitchers and vino served alongside Mediterranean sharing sides, stone-baked pizzas and BBQ bites. 8. Show off your skills at a ‘Skateboarding Jam’

Vans is holding its first ‘Skateboarding Jam’ this Friday at the Business Bay skate park behind Bay Avenue. Skaters are invited to bring their favourite boards and enjoy the ramps while showing off their best skateboarding skills, with two competitions – one for adults and one for juniors during the afternoon. The first 100 people to register online will receive a free Vans t-shirt, plus there will be Vans discounts and giveaways through the day.

 9. Check out a brand new Italian brunch

There’s a new brunch launching beachside at Il Faro on The Palm. The Bella Vista Brunch is a laid back affair with picturesque views across The Palm, live pasta stations, and a selection of sharing plates for both starters and mains. It’s family friendly too, with a dedicated craft corner for the kids.

10. Party hard at new JBR club Inner City Zoo

Set to be the place to be this Friday, Inner City Zoo is opening its doors for the first time in the Rixos Premium JBR. The nightclub promises a wild night out for Dubai’s ‘untamed party people’ with resident DJ’s spinning a mix of commercial, R&B and house music. There will also be a weekly ladies’ night launching next Tuesday, and live performances from the Inner City Girls.

11. Enjoy a very British garden party

Dubai’s British Business Group is hosting a family-focused garden party today to celebrate the group’s 30th anniversary. The event will run from 4pm till midnight and will be a celebration of all things British, with picnic food and entertainment for the kids, including giant wigwams, a bouncy castle and face painting. The soundtrack will be provided by DJ Marky Mark, and there will also be a live performance from The Boxtones. A five-hour food and drink package is available from Dhs225.

12. See a Broadway hit

Broadway musical Jersey Boys is on at Dubai Opera from October 11 to 14. The jukebox musical tells the success story of one of the most popular bands of all time: Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, a band responsible for some of the most recognisable hits of the ’60s, including Oh What a NightCan’t Take My Eyes Off YouSherryWalk Like a ManBye Bye Baby and Big Girls Don’t Cry. 13. Catch a football quiz at the pub

DIFC’s British pub, Jekyll & Hyde, is launching a new four-round quiz from 3pm every Saturday. DJ Pele Boogie takes on the role of quizmaster, and all the questions will be centered around football trivia. Four winners will walk away every week with a free bar tab worth Dhs150, and on the first week, anyone who enters will be treated to a free drink.

14.Get breakfast at a farmers’ market on the terrace

Kicking off slightly earlier than usual, Baker and Spice’s weekend farmers’ market is back this weekend, and will run every Friday and Saturday morning through the winter. There will be a whole host of local suppliers to choose from, so you can head down and grab fresh groceries for the week.
