Need to get to work super early, or head to the airport for a red-eye flight? Here’s some good news…

Dubai Metro and Tram users will be able to enjoy more early morning services starting from November 1 (which just so happens to be Public Transport Day).

The Roads and Transport Authority has announced that services on the Red Line will now start half an hour earlier at 5am, while services on the Green Line will start 20 minutes earlier at 5.30am. The Dubai Tram will start at 6am instead of 6.30am.

Improvements have also been made to the Express Metro service, with trains to be deployed in six stations – Rashidiya, Al Rigga, Emirates Towers, FGB, Jumeirah Lakes Towers and the UAE Money Exchange.

“The selected stations are the most used metro stations by passengers to get to their workplaces early. This would ease congestion at the first metro service at all stations,” said Mohammed Al Mudharreb, director of rail operations at the RTA’s Rail Agency.

These services would also start at 5am, alongside the regular Red Line services.

Friday timings would remain the same, starting at 10am for the Metro and 9am for the Tram.
