A 12 hour EDM festival, international DJs and fresh nights…

Hardly a weekend goes by in Dubai without a DJ, singer or superstar dropping in, and this week is no exception. Sister DJ duo Nervo are taking to the decks at Base, Hollaphonic, Basejackers and R3HAB all headline a 12-hour festival in RAK, and South African star Bucie is perfoming at the season opening of Afrocentric.

But lets not forget the local talent. DJ Skinny Loop’s weekly residency returns to Armani/Prive this Saturday…

Here are four nights out to hit up in Dubai (well, and RAK) this weekend…

Thursday: Nervo at Base

BASE, the open-air super-club that opened in Dubai Design District in April, is bringing sister DJ Duo Nervo to deck duty this Thursday. The dance act have an impressive resume, with a Grammy for their songwriting skills on When Love Takes Over for Kelly Rowland and David Guetta, a DJ schedule spanning over 200 live shows worldwide per year and residencies at super clubs Omnia and Wet Republic in Las Vegas and Ushuaia in Ibiza under their belts.

Friday: Destination Dawn in Ras Al Khaimah

Al Marjan Island will see the return of Destination Dawn, Ras Al Khaimah’s much-anticipated 12-hour beach festival this Friday. Headlined by three global DJs, party-goers will kick start the night with the beats of local support acts and British DJ & production duo Hollaphonic taking to the stage from 8pm. Russian trio Swanky Tunes will continue through to 11.30pm, before Dutch duo Bassjackers takes them into the early hours of Saturday, building up to one of Holland’s hottest music exports, R3HAB from 1am. Regular free shuttle buses are being put on from Dubai.

Friday: Bucie live at Pure Skylounge

The Afrocentric electronic music event is bringing South African star Bucie to Pure Sky Lounge this Friday for the season opener. Bucie has had a few number 1 hits internationally with producers including WizKid ands DJ Black Coffee, her hit Superman has also just been remixed by Drake.

Saturday: The Hip Hop Affair at Armani/Prive

See out the weekend in style inside the world’s tallest building with The Hip Hop Affair at Armani/Prive. This weekend hip hop night sees DJ Skinny Loop take to the decks and is a great one for party people who aren’t ready for the weekend to be over.
