Increasing connectivity to the emirates, the four times weekly service will benefit transit passengers as well as those with Istanbul as their final destination

Turkish Airlines is set to resume flights to Abu Dhabi, with its Istanbul to Abu Dhabi route set to resume on July 1.

Turkish Airlines had temporarily suspended services to parts of the Gulf due to regional tensions, but will now restore its full UAE network next month.

Abu Dhabi’s restart follows close behind Dubai, where Turkish Airlines resumed Istanbul services back on June 9, as we reported at the time. That route is now ramping up fast: Dubai frequencies will double from seven to 14 weekly flights starting June 25, putting the daily Dubai–Istanbul connection back to normal. Fares start from Dhs3,200 return.

From Abu Dhabi, the Istanbul route will run four times weekly. Flight TK868 departs Istanbul at 6.45pm on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, landing in Abu Dhabi at 12.25am. The return, TK869, leaves Abu Dhabi at 1.30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving back in Istanbul at 5.25am.

Whether it’s for a long weekend in Istanbul or a longer haul onward through Turkish Airlines’ network, the return of the route is set to benefit both transit passengers as well as those with Istanbul as their final destination.
