A Saturday brunch, food trucks, a new night brunch and a character-led Indian restaurant…

From unique dining experiences to wallet-friendly dinner deals perfect for pairs, we seem to have it all when it comes to new restaurants.

But as the foodie scene gets bigger and bigger, we’re seeing both old and new concepts bringing a fresh approach to dining in Dubai.

So here are four restaurants on our radar to check out this week (here are the fresh places we pointed out last week).

Mercury Lounge: A new menu for the new season

This lounge claims to be the only one in town that overlooks the Burj Khalifa and the Burj Al Arab. It’s at the top of the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach, and the space itself is as attractive as that view.

Now finally re-opening after it’s summer hiatus, Mercury Lounge has just launched an evening night brunch. Every Thursday from 8pm to 11pm, you’ll get a special menu of modern Mediterranean dishes for Dhs295.

Four Seasons Dubai Jumeirah Resort, Jumeirah, Dubai, daily 6pm to 2am. Tel: (04) 270 7777. More info on website

Little Miss India

Little Miss India has just opened on the Palm Jumeirah. Designed to look like a home, the ‘mansion’ comes complete with an atrium, lounge and dining room with open-style kitchen. Focusing on regional Indian flavours, the restaurant and bar menu is designed to be shared. Signature dishes include the ‘Tandoori Ran’, a marinated leg of lamb slow-cooked for eight hours and finished in the charcoal tandoor, ‘Dum Biryani’, basmati rice with saffron and spices slow cooked in a sealed clay pot served to the table and a selection of fresh Indian breads including Naan, Laccha Paratha and Kulcha varieties.

Fairmont The Palm, Dubai, lounge daily 5pm to 1am, restaurant daily 6.30pm to 11.30pm. Tel: (04) 457 3457. More info on website

Ronda Locatelli: A Saturday brunch that’s family friendly

On a Saturday, there’s a new family-friendly brunch for foodies. The brunch includes starters of pizza, Italian Affettati and freshly baked bread with a selection of Italian cheeses. Main course is an a la carte menu with four options to choose from and a selection of Italian desserts. Plus for the kids, there’s pizza making with the chef, painting on the terrace and a magic show

Ronda Locatelli, Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, Saturday, 12pm to 3.30pm, Dhs195 soft Dhs295 house. Tel: (04) 426 2626. More info on website

Plus a food truck you’ll want to know about…

Hooked Dxb: Bao’s now served up in Jumeirah

Food Truck Hooked Dxb specialises in delicious bao, and it’s had several homes across Dubai this year, from Emirates Golf Club to Al Quoz. But right now, you’ll find it outside The Mall, Jumeirah opposite the Burj Al Arab. It serves up some of the best baos in town, and best of all, it’s available on Deliveroo too.

Hooked Dxb, The Mall Jumeirah and via Deliveroo. More info on Facebook
