Lamar cites ‘personal reasons’ for his withdrawal from the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix concert…

Last month we confirmed the complete line up for the Abu Dhabi Yasalam after race concerts as DJ Calvin Harris, hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar, indie rock band Mumford and Sons and pop megastar Pink.

However a change in that line up has been announced today, as it has been announced that Kendrick Lamar will no longer be performing at the Abu Dhabi concert.

In a statement, the concert organisers say that “due to circumstances beyond the promoter’s control, Lamar won’t be performing due to personal reasons”.

But not to worry hip hop fans, as concert organisers have already drafted in a replacement. Hip-hop producer and Grammy nominee J. Cole will take his place, performing on Friday November 24.

The hip hop star has produced four studio albums, including his latest release 4 Your Eyez Only which was certified platinum in April of this year. He has also produced tracks for the likes of Janet Jackson and also Kendrick Lamar whom he replaces at the Abu Dhabi after race concerts.

As always, concert tickets can’t be individually purchased, but are instead part of the race package tickets – there is a variety of pricing options for tickets, and you can check them out here.
