Catch new Emirati horror movie Until Midnight


Fancy seeing a movie tonight? You can watch one made right here in the UAE by Emirati director Tariq Alkazim. Until Midnight is a horror flick starring social media star Ahmed Khamis (who also starred in 2015’s Arab Casting). Alkazim is a rising name in the movie industry in the GCC. His debut movie A Tale Of Shadows was released in cinemas last year. Nigerian actor Chuka Ekweogwu also stars in this creepy tale about a man who’s home alone, but starts to think there’s someone in the house watching him. It’s on general release in UAE cinemas from tonight.

Abu Dhabi Summer Season officially starts this weekend with the first of its shows – Al Bait Bait Aboona is a comedy horror theatrical show by MBC starring Haya Alshoaibi and Soad Ali and also featuring Thamer Alshoaibi, Abdulmalek Almuzail and Yousef Almatar.

Attend the McGettigan’s Honky Tonk brunch

Go collecting at Etihad Modern Art Gallery


Etihad Modern Art Gallery’s annual exhibition and souq are back, giving you the chance to admire works by local artists, and maybe even buy a piece. The artworks on display have been featured at all of the gallery’s shows over the past year, and the event is now in its fifth year. The souq will be selling a selection of contemporary art pieces, including modern acrylic and oil paintings and digital prints.

Urban RetrEAT now open Yas Mall


There’s a new place to eat at Yas Island’s gigantic shopping centre – and it’s a place where you’ll be able to try 12 cuisines. Urban RetrEAT features UAE street food vendors on a three-month rotation, meaning you’ll be able to try a variety of dishes from all over the globe. Vendors that have signed up for it include seafood outlet Off The Hook, Latin-American food truck Casa Latina, Firefly Burger and Casa De Churros.

Yoga under the moonlight
