The iconic British singer will play a gig at The Irish Village next month…

The voice of famous British band Wet Wet Wet, Marti Pellow, is set to perform a one-off gig at The Irish Village on Thursday April 19. The lead singer of the popular 80s band will be performing a collection of the bands most iconic hits, as well as some new solo material at the gig.

With a career spanning more than 30 years, the Scottish singer and songwriter has amassed 13 top ten hits, three of which were number ones, as well as several awards both as a solo artist and with the band.

Wet Wet Wet first began releasing music in 1982, and went on to become on of the most successful bands in UK pop history. After achieving their first number one in 1988 with a cover of The Beatles ‘I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends‘, their iconic cover of the single ‘Love is All Around‘ skyrocketed their success in 1994. The single spending an impressive 15 weeks as the number one single in the UK.

As a solo artist, Marti has achieved platinum status albums, and worked with stars including Ricky Wilson and Jason Donovan. But he’s not just been busy making music. Pellow has had stints in theatre productions in both London’s West End as well as on Broadway in New York.
