Grab your sombrero and fiesta your way to one of these Cinco de Mayo parties…

Any day of the week, we reckon that sombreros, tacos and margaritas are a winning combination, but none more so than on Cinco de Mayo. The annual Mexican fiesta rolls round again this week, and Dubai isn’t missing out on any of the action.

Here are five places to celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Dubai 


Coya win

Coya will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo in the Pisco Lounge this Saturday May 5 with a special selection of Mexican themed cocktails and floating canapes. If it’s an a la carte option you’re after – it’s normal service in the dining room.

Loca will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a one-off Saturday brunch this weekend. The five hour package is priced at Dhs285 and includes dishes such as huervos, slow-roasted ribs and kingfish fajitas served up alongside free flowing drinks beers, wines and margaritas. It’s complimented by a game of Mexican ‘Loteria’, a bingo-style game of cards with a chance to win some great prizes.

This Cinco de Mayo, bring your ‘amigos’ to Maya Mexican Kitchen +  Bar where they’ll be throwing a street food Fiesta at Bar Tacos on the terrace. They’ll be selling vouchers for Dhs40, with each one redeemable against a drink or one of the many dishes on offer at the live cooking stations and food stands. For those wanting the à la carte option, service will continue as usual downstairs in the main dining area.

Launching just in time for May 5, and available through Deliveroo exclusively, Taqado’s El Jefe Boxes are the way to go if you’re looking to host a fiesta at home. Available in two different sizes, the El Jefe boxes are made up of mini burritos, salsa, chips and nacho chips and priced at Dhs300 for 5 people and Dhs575 for a box that feeds ten.
