Emirates Post has announced it will begin servicing more than 15,000 business and 100,000 residents in the JLT community

The postal system in Dubai doesn’t function in quite the same way many of us are accustomed to in other parts of the world. Very few neighbourhoods have door-to-door mail delivery, you either sign up for a PO box at one of the central post offices, use a courier service like Fedex or DHL, or (and this is more likely), have all your post sent to your office.

That’s about to change for residents and businesses in Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), however, as Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has announced a deal with Emirates Post Group to offer postal services to the more than 15, 000 business and 100,000 residents in the area.

An Emirates Post service counter will be opened in the DMCC client service area of Almas Tower, while a digital portal will also allow DMCC members to process applications for a PO box online.

In an official statement, DMCC executive chairman, Ahmed Bin Sulayem said: “Sitting at the heart of the DMCC strategy is the approach that listens to business, understands what it requires to grow and provides precisely that. The recent agreement signed with Emirates Post Group is a testament to our customer-centric strategy, signals our intent to remove barriers to trade, and essentially deliver a framework that makes it easier to do business”
