This is good news…

If you’re staying in Dubai for Eid Al Fitr, there’s some good news for drivers as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced four days of free parking in Dubai during the Eid celebrations.

This applies to all public parking except for multi-level parking terminals. Free parking in Dubai will be activated on 29 Ramadan (Thursday June 14) and applies until 3 Shawaal 1439H (Sunday June 17). Paid parking will be re-activated as of 4 Shawaal 1439H (Monday June 18).

What about an extra day off or two?

Well, the UAE government has declared that the Eid Al Fitr holiday will begin on Thursday for public sector workers, while private sector workers are still waiting to find out if they’ll be getting a long weekend.

Traditionally, both public and private sector workers receive two to three days off to celebrate Eid Al Fitr. However, as the holiday is expected to fall on a weekend this year, private sector workers may not receive any extra days off.
