Ras Al Khaimah is a hidden gem among the emirates, boasting the country’s tallest mountain Jebel Jais, some cracking beachside hotels and the world’s longest zipline for the adventure-seeking.

And it’s now even easier, and cheaper to get to, as Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) has announced it is making it’s shuttle service free over the summer months.

The shuttle bus arrives and departs from Dubai International Airport terminals one and three six times a day, with three trips in the morning and three at night. The bus also comes with free WIFI, water bottles and maps provided on board, so you can swat up on your Ras Al Khaimah knowledge on the journey.

The 45-minute journey will take guests on a scenic route to the emirate, complete with magnificent desert views, then drop them off at any of the main hotels in Ras Al Khaimah.

Once you get there, there’s plenty to see and do. As well as 64km of coastline dotted with luxury resorts offering some great staycation deals, there’s desert and mountains ideal for safari’s and nature trails, Ice Land Water Park for some water-based adrenaline and a handful of malls for shopping.
