Having brought Dubai’s first licensed dine-in cinema to our shores earlier this year, Reel Cinemas is about to bring us another first, launching a 270-degree panoramic cinema at its Dubai Mall location. 

The multi-projection system, called ScreenX, provides a 270-degree panoramic film viewing experience, and will be among the first ScreenX’s to debut in the Middle East.

Although we don’t know when the immersive cinema experience will open, we have been given an idea of what it will look like:

A collaboration between Reel Cinemas and CJ 4DPLEX, a Korean-based tech company, the news was announced at CineEurope this week in Barcelona.

“At Reel Cinemas, we are constantly redefining our visitor’s experience by introducing world’s first technologies. ScreenX will be a leading addition to our technology showcase that assures a stunning 270-degree panoramic film viewing experience that will further cement our market leadership,” said Damien Latham, CEO of Emaar Entertainment.
