Du’s public Wi-Fi hosposts will be 10 times faster than normal…

Excited for the upcoming Eid holiday? Of course you are. Well, it’s about to get a lot sweeter as local telco Du has announced that it will be ramping up its free Wi-Fi services across Dubai giving them a massive speed boost.

From Sunday, August 19 to Thursday, August 23 the company’s ‘WiFi UAE’ hotspots (which can be found at malls, metro stations and most public places) will be be up to 10 times faster than normal and at no additional cost.

Typically, Du offers a free and a premium tier for its public Wi-Fi service with the free one being substantially slower. Over the five days of Eid Al Adha the free tier will operate at a much faster speed which will be a boon to residents not wanting to use up their mobile data when out and about.
