It just got easier to take your four-legged friend on holiday…

You can now book a return flight for your pet on low-cost carrier Flydubai.

The airline’s cargo division announced today that it will start offering live animal transportation across its network.

The announcement comes after the airline successfully transported two saluki dogs and seven falcons for a recent competition held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.

As well as pets, the airline will also offer transportation services for agricultural and zoological purposes.

All transportation will follow the IATA Live Animals Regulations to ensure animals are transported safely and humanely.

“Since we began our operations in 2012, we have been focused on offering customers consistent and efficient cargo solutions and we are delighted that we will now be able to offer live animal transportation,” said Mohamed Hassan, vice president of Flydubai Cargo.

Flydubai said it has a dedicated facility for live animals and will offer specialised animal care during transits in Dubai. Services include full physical check-ups, feeding, walking and administering medicine. Pet cleaning will also be available upon request.

Currently, animals are not allowed on regular Flydubai flights, however, falcons are allowed onboard with special prior approval.
