Brand new taco bars, new ladies’ nights and the world’s biggest book sale…

Welcome to the new week Dubai, and if you’re looking for a way to cure your Sunday blues, look no further. From new openings and evening brunches to meditation and book sales, we’ve rounded up some great deals to get you through the week.

Here are 8 things to do in Dubai this week.

Sunday October 21

1. Check out a new taco bar

El Noctambulo opens its doors today, and we can’t wait to check it out. The funky new taco and tequila bar promisees a dozen different types of tacos, empanadas and guac as well as a dedicated tequila bar where you’ll find tequila (naturally), mezcal and the famous Micheladas (a Mexican beer made with lime juice), served up to a predominantly Mexican Hip Hop and RnB playlist.

El Noctámbulo, Building 8, Dubai Design District, daily 12pm to 12am. Tel: (04) 566 8374.

2. Bag a bargain at a huge book sale

The world’s biggest book sale is in full swing in Dubai this week. Running until October 28, the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale is showcasing over three million brand new English-language books for sale, with 50 to 80 per cent off the normal retail prices.

The Big Bad Wolf Books Sale, Dubai Studio City, October 18 to 28, 24 hours. @bbwbooksuae

3. Catch a blockbuster with the girls at a ladies-only film night

Taking place every Monday at Novo Cinemas Dubai Festival City, when purchasing a Dhs150 cinema ticket to the premium 7-star screens, ladies will receive Dhs52.50 back to spend on food and drink from their new a la carte menu. The whole night is ladies-only, so there’s boys allowed, and you’ll also be served by an all-female team.

Novo Cinemas, Dubai Festival City, Mondays, Dhs158.

4. Enjoy unlimited drinks for Dhs99 at a new ladies’ night

A more traditional version of a ladies’ night, WXYZ bar in the Aloft Me’aisam in Production City is offering ladies unlimited house beverages every Monday. The package runs from 7pm to 10pm, plus each lady will enjoy a complimentary glass of bubbly in groups of four or more.
