A special fountain show and a countdown on the Burj are among the festivities happening this weekend…

Saturday October 20 officially marks the start of the two year countdown to Expo 2020. And what better way to celebrate than a huge event at Burj Park?

The celebration will feature a specially choreographed show of The Dubai Fountain, and a display on the Burj Khalifa facade at 2020 (8.20pm) to mark the milestone.

Running from 5pm to 10pm this Saturday, event organisers are promising ‘a glimpse of what is to come at the biggest event to ever be held in the region’ complete with art exhibits, pop-up food stalls from around the world and live performances.

There will also be the opportunity to sign up as one of Expo 2020’s 30,000 volunteers.

Visitors will arrive at the free-entry event via a ‘Bridge of Moments’: an illuminated entrance which takes them into the park. From therethe park will be split into five zones which each represent a part of the Expo 2020 Dubai experience, bringing to life its theme of ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’.
