The wintry weather is on its way…

Forecasters are warning that heavy rain and even thunderstorms could hit some parts of the UAE over the next few days.

The National Centre for Meteorology (NCM) said an area of low pressure in the Red Sea – which caused heavy flooding in both Jordan and Saudi Arabia over the weekend – would bring rain clouds of “varying intensity” over areas of the country.

The NCM warned there was “a chance of convective cloud clouds formation associated with rainfall and fresh winds with poor horizontal visibility to less than 2000 metres at times over scattered areas especially eastern and western areas of the country from 11am to 9pm on Sunday.”

From Sunday until Tuesday, rain would develop over western and coastal areas of the country before spreading inland.

The maximum temperature in Dubai on Sunday would be 34 degrees Celsius, dropping to a mild high of 31C on Tuesday.
