Opa promises a traditional menu, Zorba dancing and smashing dishes…

An exciting new Greek restaurant is opening in Downtown Dubai, and it’ll throw open its doors very soon. Called Opa, the new spot promises an affordable menu of traditional Greek eats, a friendly ambience and charming interiors inspired by the Greek Islands.

Guests can expect a menu that includes grilled meats, salads, fresh fish dishes and sweet pastries inspired by the Grecian islands, as well as a few alternative dishes, too.

But the traditional Greek experience isn’t just limited to the menu. The first details of the new spot are promising Zorba dancing and dish smashing, as well as Greek-inspired music and an exciting programme of live entertainment.

Although no images have yet been released, a teaser image of a leafy, colourful entrance has already got us dreaming of what the restaurant will look like inside.

Originating from the Greek word frequently used during wedding celebrations and traditional dancing, “Opa” is the expression that accompanies purposeful or accidental plate smashing. So, we’ve got high expectations for a lively dining experience.

The new Greek restaurant will replace seafood restaurant Catch Dubai, which closed earlier this year.

Opa will follow on from the recent opening of another Greek restaurant, Gaia, which opened its doors last month in Gate Village. The homegrown concept is helmed by local culinary hero Izu Ani.

Opa, 1st Level, Fairmont Dubai, Sheikh Zayed Road, opening soon. Tel: (04) 357 0557. facebook.com/OpaDubai
