Super98 will be the lowest it’s been in over a year…

If you’re planning on filling up at the pump over the next few days you might want to hold out until the new year, as prices are set to drop significantly in January 2019.

In January, drivers can expect to pay Dhs2 per litre for Super 98, down from Dhs2.25 in December. Special 95 will cost Dhs1.89 per litre, reduced by 26 fils from Dhs2.15 last month. Diesel will also be cheaper this month than last, priced at Dhs2.31 per litre for January – that’s 30 fils cheaper than in December

All prices include the VAT rate of 5 per cent.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Before that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
