2. Tuck into some last chance sweet treats
Sanderson’s will be open daily from iftar until 2am, serving their full mood-food menu. But the chefs are using Ramadan as a time to get creative, by offering an assortment of delicious cakes, éclairs and croissants not regularly on the menu. Tuck into chocolate, mixed nut and date kunafa cake and Basboussa cheesecake, or choose from whipped pistachio, nutella or red velvet kunafa éclairs, date-stuffed Loqaimat croquembouche and mouth-watering orange and pistachio yoghurt puddings. Sanderson’s special Ramadan desserts will be available to purchase for the family to enjoy at home, or in single servings.

4. Spend time with the family at Louvre Abu Dhabi
Looking for something creative to do with the family? Head to Louvre Abu Dhabi. The museum holds fun-filled weekends every last weekend of the month, where you and your family can spend time with each other through a variety of free creative activities. The line up of programs start from 2pm and end at 6pm, so there’s plenty of time to grab a family lunch before getting there. The creative workshops start at 2.30pm and are held every hour until 5.30pm, but if drawing is more your style, they are also available at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

5. See Islamic artefacts at these malls
During Ramadan, Yas Mall, The Mall at World Trade Center Abu Dhabi and Al Jimi Mall will be home to Islamic artefacts. The three malls have partnered with The Islamic Museum during the Holy Month to put on display over 100 priceless inspiring pieces, and it’s available free of cost for the public to check out. Some of the artefacts you can expect to see are a special oil painting of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Nahyan; the chair on which Sheikh Zayed used to sit; the first photo of the union with the leaders of the UAE; rare historical newspapers clippings; Quran copies that date back thousands of years and more. The artefacts will be at the malls all through Ramadan until June 4.

6. Check out a cool exhibition
For a culture fix, head to Warehouse 421 and check out the Nomadic Traces: Journey of Arabian Scripts that debuts this Saturday. The exhibitions were commissioned by nine artists and designers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Palestine. The works of arts range from drawings, art installations, and ceramics that explores the origins of six of the most influential alphabets in the history of the Middle East.
