Rotisserie platters, raw seafood bar and iconic Dubai Fountain views – Tulum at Dubai Mall promises Mexican flavours unlike any we’ve had before…

Joining the likes of Opso, Huqqa and The Market, L’ETO and Gia is Tulum – a stunning new Mexican restaurant set to open this August on the 3rd floor of the Fashion Avenue extension in Dubai Mall.

The team opening Tulum are the same group behind one of our favourite Mexican restaurant openings this year, Puerto 99 on Bluewaters Island. But while Puerto 99 includes dishes typically from the northern regions of Mexico, we’re told that new spot Tulum will focus on dishes and preparation techniques from the southwestern regions of Mexico.

Signature dishes appear mostly in the rotisserie selection, which will feature family sized platters of roasted goat, lamb and chicken. There will also be a centrally-placed raw seafood bar featuring a fresh selection of seafood, as well as a dedicated fruit and pastry bar offering a variety of fresh fruit and vegetable juices, blends and smoothies.

Inside, Tulum restaurant pays homage to its trendy namesake on Mexico’s Caribbean coast, known for its postcard-perfect ruins. The interiors are influenced by art and architecture from the ancient Mexican civilization, with clay geometric mosaics and painted ceramics being the focal points inside Tulum.

When complete, Tulum will feature an open plan seating area, as well as a private dining room for special events, a children’s play area, and a wraparound terrace with killer views of the Dubai Fountains.
