UAE petrol prices are set to drop in September

Petrol prices are the lowest they’ve been since April this year…

It’s good news for drivers in the UAE as petrol prices are set to drop in September, in what will be the the lowest fuel prices since April this year.

In September, drivers can expect to pay Dhs2.28 per litre for Super 98, down from Dhs2.37 in August. Special 95 will be priced at Dhs2.16 per litre, which is 10 fils lower than August’s Dhs2.26 per litre charge and finally, diesel will cost Dhs2.38 per litre in comparsion to Dhs2.42 in August.

All prices include the VAT rate of 5 per cent.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Before that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
