The world’s biggest beer and folk festival is back…

With the weather finally cooling down and the events season ramping up into full swing, the arrival of September and October can only mean one thing: Oktoberfest.

The Bavarian folk festival might have originated in Germany, but Dubai never misses an opportunity to get into the celebrating spirit, so dig out your lederhosen and flex your stein arms, as these Dubai bars and restaurants will be putting on some brilliant Oktoberfest celebrations in Dubai.

Here’s where to celebrate Oktoberfest in Dubai… 

Brothaus

As Brothaus Bistro are going all out for Oktoberfest, and from September 20 to October 31, they’re throwing some epic celebrations in their ‘sommergarten’. It all kicks off with a five hour ‘Volksfest brunch’ on Friday September 20, complete with DJ and a stein holding competition. Priced at Dhs145, the brunch includes unlimited starters, a main course, a cake slice, coffee or tea and unlimited lemonade counter. Alcoholic beverages are priced from Dhs25 for selected house wine, beer, spirits and selected cocktails. Saturday marks the official start of the Oktoberfest in Germany, and to celebrate Brothaus will give out 50 free pints of beer from 5pm to 7pm. Don your best German outfits to win free pints too.

Double Decker

Double Decker are celebrating Oktoberfest for a full month, from September 27 to November 1. As well as being able to feast on Bavarian classics like pretzels and bratwurst, there will be special drinks deals available. On October 4, they will throw a brunch (aptly named ‘Funch’) with Bavarian food, free-flowing beverages, live music and loads of fun games including giant connect 4, Jenga and karaoke. Funch is priced at Dhs199 from 12pm to 4pm and Dhs149 to carry on the afterparty until 7pm.

Eloquent Elephant

Theirs might not be a full-blown festival but Eloquent Elephant at the Taj Dubai aren’t letting Oktoberfest pass by without a nod. Between September 21 and October 6, they’re offering up a German-inspired menu with a selection of Bavarian beers to match. Tuck into hearty dishes like chicken schnitzel with creamy blaukraut or even a half metre bratwurst with a range of tasty dips. It’s available Saturday to Wednesday.

Garden on 8

Garden on 8 are celebrating all things German from September 19 to October 6 in their covered Oktoberfest tent. With DJ Micha on the decks, there’ll be a traditional German menu and their normal happy hour running every day, where you’ll get two for one on selected house drinks or craft beer and cocktails between 4pm and 8pm. They’ll also be live streaming the actual Oktoberfest event from 6pm each day too.

Grand Hyatt

The original Oktoberfest party is back, looking bigger and better than ever. Prepare to don your lederhosen as you dance to the jaunty tunes of a live Bavarian band. Staff will be kitted out in full traditional dress and even the Oktoberfest tent is having a makeover to instill that true Bavarian feeling. Guests cana buffet every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 7pm to 2am for Dhs150 and there’s a family friendly Saturday brunch from 12.30pm to 4pm with plenty of activities for the whole family to get involved with.

Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City

From October 23, and for a whopping 18 days, Oktoberfest fans will get to enjoy the best of Bavaria inside a traditional Munich-style Oktoberfest tent at Grand Plaza Movenpick Media City. The inaugural Oktoberfest M’City 2019 extravaganza will feature a series of exclusive deals and entertainment including ladies’ nights, Bavarian brunches and a live band flown over especially for the occasion.

Irish Village

If you’re looking for some seriously good craic to go along with your Oktoberfest festivities, then Dubai’s very own Irish Village is top option. They’ll be throwing a three-day extravaganza from September 18 to 21, with an official German Oktoberfest Band, a German DJ, huge steins of beer and, of course, tons of authentic German food. Get ready for some thigh-slapping festival spirit.

Le Méridien Village Terrace

Le Méridien Dubai are throwing a week-long celebration for the Bavarian folk festival on their Village Terrace. The cute outdoor setting, surrounded by lush greenery will serve as the backdrop to recreate world’s largest Volksfest, where traditional German dishes will be served up buffet-style including German breads, pretzels, as well as Oktoberfest staples, including Sauerkraut, hotdogs and and brews. It’s a wallet friendly Dhs239 for all-inclusive food and drink. There’s also going to be a themed brunch at the Warehouse bar on Friday, October 4, with the house beverages package priced at Dhs295.

Red Lion

An afternoon in The Red Lion might have you thinking you’ve transported to an old country pub back in England. Their Bavarian celebrations go on throughout the month of October with happy hour deals, German beer, entertainment, board games and, of course, loads of classic German dishes to feast your eyes and bellies upon.

Rose and Crown

British pub Rose & Crown is serving up a selection of Bavarian classics such as German sausages, pork shank and beef roulade for Dhs65 each or add a pint of beer for Dhs90. There’s also a daily happy hour between 5pm and 8pm where guests can enjoy select drinks for Dhs29.

WXYZ Bar at Aloft City Centre Deira are offering up a German-inspired hotdog along side two beers for just Dhs79, available from September 21 to October 6.
