6. Try the new menu at Sanderson’s

Keeping true to their ‘good food better mood’ ethos, executive chef Troy Payne and his team have created a menu that boasts nutritional superstar ingredients without compromising flavour. Take ‘the Good Dog’, a vegan work of art. An heirloom carrot is first poached in spices, then gently roasted and rolled in seeds. Served in citrus-dressed spinach with sliced avocado, it’s then snuggled into a crimson beetroot bun and finished with a drizzle of tofu chilli mayo and raw garlic butter. For dessert there is the Lucuma Matata, with ice cream made from the low-glycemic index Peruvian superfruit and antioxidant superpower Lucuma. Made into an ice cream that sits on dark chocolate waffles, it’s served with fresh mango, crunchy pistachios and a rich date syrup. No sugar crash here, just slow-burning energy to help you power through the rest of the day.

Sanderson’s Cafe, Andalus Al Seef Resort, Abu Dhabi. Daily 8am to 10pm. Tel: (02) 222142. wearesandersons.com
