And there’s a fun Mexican bar taking its place in Business Bay…

Much-loved nightlife hotspot, Iris, has closed for renovations and will be relocating to party destination Meydan in the next few weeks. The open-air bar was a popular spot of after-work drinks, live musical performances and a lively weekend brunch.

Iris are yet to reveal how the new location will look, and if it will continue with its weekly events. However, the new venue will also be an open air space, and can be found close to the far end of Meydan, just past White Dubai. While it won’t have the same up-close-and-personal Burj Khalifa views, the Downtown skyline views from Meydan are equally as epic.

Business Bay regulars shouldn’t be disappointed though, as fun Mexican and Latino concept, La Mezcaleria, will take its place. The restaurant, hailing from Beirut, is expected to take the rooftop slot in The Oberoi and open before the end of the year.

The fun concept promises to deliver ‘unique tequilas and Mezcal cocktails along with Mexican and Latino tapas’. Set to be your new afterwork hangout, the Beirut location offers live music, fun entertainment and a daily happy hour, so we’re sure you can expect a similar vibe in Dubai.

Le Mazcaleria is managed by Addmind, the team behind Iris, who also brought you White Dubai, Drai’s DXB and Italian eatery Matto, so we can be sure of a brilliant time when we do get to visit. Keep an eye on What’s On in the coming weeks for more information on both of the exciting new bars.
