Almost 200,000 passengers are expected to travel over National Day weekend…

Almost 200,000 passengers are expected to travel from Dubai with Emirates this weekend as UAE residents head off for their extended National Day weekend.

So, with this in mind, Emirates has urged passengers to reach the airport at least three hours before their flight departs due to the increased number of people.

The busiest day will be on Friday November 29, when 40,000 people are expected to descend on Terminal 3 for their flights. Peak travel will begin on Thursday November 28 and continue until Thursday December 5.

To speed things up, it’s always best to check in online, which you can do as early as 48 hours prior to your flight. You can physically check in at the airport as early as 24 hours before flying.

Emirates has warned that those who check in less than 60 minutes before their scheduled flight time won’t be accepted for travel. Passengers are also advised to get to their boarding gate on time.

Gates open 90 minutes before departure, boarding starts 45 minutes before each flight and gates close 20 minutes before departure. Emirate warns that if passengers report late they will not be accepted for the flight.

Check-in and gate closure timings will be strictly followed to ensure flights depart on schedule. So get yourself there early to avoid pre-travel stress.
