The popular steakhouse has got a striking new look…

Madinat Jumeirah’s South African steakhouse The Meat Co has been closed for the past few months – but they’re now open again with a luxe new look.

So what’s changed? Rich, leather furnishings meet luxurious gold and brass metals, giving it a decadent, classic look. Subtle African artwork and influences give ode to The Meat Co.’s heritage and there’s even a faux-dinosaur skeleton dominating the middle of the room.

Diners will be able to choose from cosy booths and intimate table settings or perch on one of the high stools for cocktails at the bar.

House beverages like wine, beer and spirits will be available, along with a range of specially-curated cocktails like old fashioned’s, spritzers and other mixes crafted by the bartenders.

Alongside some old The Meat Co. favourites on the menu – think succulent steaks and fresh seafood – there will be some brand new dishes to try too. Venison tataki, Wagyu biltong, seared scallops and a decadent seabass dish are all new additions.

The Meat Co. might be bonafide steakhouse, but there’s loads on the menu for pescatarians and vegetarians too, with seabass ceviche and salmon crudo for the seafood lovers and dishes like spinach and ricotta tortellini for the veggies.

As well as the sophisticated makeover inside, those who like to dine al fresco will be able to do so on the new and improved terrace, which has been expanded. There, you’ll be able to dine with stunning views of the Madinat’s blue waters and the Burj Al Arab.

We can’t wait to check it out…
