The display is 8 metres long with replicas of some of Dubai’s iconic landmarks featured…

Christmas is drawing ever closer and one way many of Dubai’s hotels and restaurants like to celebrate is with giant gingerbread creations.

But going one step further this year is The H Dubai, who’ve recreated Sheikh Zayed Road entirely out of gingerbread and Belgian chocolate.

The jaw-dropping display spans 8 metres and took a team of 20 chefs more than 900 hours to finish, with planning starting back in September this year. It includes a World Trade Centre, RTA metro station (complete with metro train) and an edible replica of the hotel, which stands at two metres tall.

Because no Christmas is complete without Santa’s sleigh and his reindeer, you’ll also find an impressive 60kg sleigh made entirely out of Belgian chocolate, piled high with presents and the trusty reindeer at its helm.

Rather than being lined with cars, like we normally know Sheikh Zayed Road to be, the road in this creation is topped with snow, lined with fairy-light covered Christmas trees and even features Santa on his way to deliver presents.

The masterpiece is on display in the entrance hall of the Sheikh Zayed Road-based hotel – so if you’re looking for something to wow the little ones this week, this ought to do it.

What a way to get us in the festive mood…
